Reasons to try Bowen
9) Complemetary with Conventional Medication
Bowen is a complementary Therapy, meaning that it can be used to assist recovery, alongside medication. Although an objective of a lot of clients is to become less dependant on prescribed drugs, I would never recommend clients changing their medication. However, I would recommend that if their condition improves then they perhaps should consider discussing the possibility of a change in medication with their GP.
It can be used in pre and post operative situations to help the body prepare for and recover after an operation.
Bowen has been used on people receiving chemotherapy treatment to aid detoxification of the body
It can be used to maintain a pregnant mothers health throughout her pregnancy.
Bowen Therapy is not normally used in conjunction with other types of Complementary therapy due to the possible interaction of the two therapies. e.g. If a client was already receiving say acupuncture I would ask them to complete the course before embarking on Bowen treatment so I can then see, first hand, the changes that have occured due to Bowen Therapy alone.
