Reasons to try Bowen

8) Long Lasting Results
Bowen is often described as a cost effective form of treatment for 2 reasons.  Firstly,  only a few treatment sessions are normally required to induce a significant improvement and secondly when an improvement is achieved it tends to stay.- (unless the client re-injures themselves)

The concept of long courses of treatment searching for a solution rarely occurs.   I always suggest to clients to try 3 treatment sessions, since I would expect to improvement to occur within this time.   In the event that no benefit accrued we would review that situation and possibly discontinue the treatment sessions, admitting that the person may be one of the small percentage of people that Bowen treatment does not appear to benefit.

With Bowen, the practitioner has to use his skill and judgement to select the appropriate procedures to apply. There are over 50 different procedures in Bowen but it is important to limit the bowenwork performed in any one session. It is though too many signals can confuse  the brain  and then the results are not so dramatic.

There is a saying in the Bowen World  "Less is more".  Something that Bowen  therapists will always bear in mind.   Of course it is sometimes  difficult for clients new to Bowen, to believe that only a  few 'moves' will have such a profound effect.  - Until they results speak for themselves.
