Qu 6:- Why is Drinking Water Recommended
Hydration of the body is key to ones overall well-being, irrespective of whether Bowen Therapy is being administered or not.
Consuming water regularly can make a significant difference to the bodies metabolism, helping to remove toxins from the body as well as improving the effectiveness of Bowen Therapy. Bowen Therapists will therefore advise clients to drink water on a regular basis, both before and after Bowen Sessions. (water consumed via coffee, tea, sodas and alcohol does not have the hydrating effect required. There is caffeine in coffee and tea and as any one who has drank too much alcohol will know that alcohol dehydrates the body)
Incidentally as we grow older the body is less able to predict dehydration and consequently by the time one recognises the fact you are thirsty, you are already significantly dehydrated.
So Drink Water (6 or 7 glasses a day, unless there are any kidney issues that restrict the bodies normal removal of excess water)
